Am I responding to things to ignore work? YES.

Should I be ignoring work, NO. It's end of month LOLOL.

Yesterday I was chatting with my boss because next week I've been called for jury duty and she was all: We really need to get you back-ups for your tasks, but FOR NOW, since we don't have any can you work during the evenings next week to make sure end of month goes good.  It'll also allow you to make up time, so you don't have to use vacation time for the days you're called for jury duty.

Which is fine, I was going to do that anyway because I'm saving my PTO for the summer to visit family for a week, but what if WHAT IF I did just wanna use PTO time so I wouldn't have to work late nights. WHAT IF.

So now I am mentally rebelling and ignoring stuff even though it's just a detriment to myself since I still have to do it and I already have to work Sunday to try to get ahead of the game as much possible prior to jury duty.

OH WELL. We'll see if I can get myself back together :D

TGIF!! I hope everyone is having a Friyay! Or a Saturyay (depending on timezones!)

*HUGS*

That is a huge ask, and you should be getting more than just making up time for that!

*MORE HUGS*

Aargh, working extra and late nights sucks!!! I'm sorry you're in this position, boo hiss.

I had a pretty good Friyay except I was tired all day, but I slept in this morning which bodes for a better Saturyay!!! Happy Saturyay to you!

Wait, isn't your work legally mandated to provide paid time off for jury duty? They aren't supposed to require to you to use vacation days. When I've served on a jury, I had to turn over my pay (Idaho gives a little money, not sure about other states) to my job, and in return, I had my regular salary and didn't have to use vacation or personal days. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to make you use vacation time.

Well, it was like $40 for the whole day, so it's not anywhere near making up for a day's wage, but yeah, my school district made the deal with teachers that if we give them that check, then we get our full day's pay without having to use vacation time. It's clear that our judicial system is invested in keeping as many people off jury duty as possible, making it so people who can't afford to take time off or have no PTO can't serve. Grrrr.
